Judge and Steward Registration is Open

If you have registered, log in and then choose Edit Account from the My Account menu indicated by the icon on the top menu.
This competition is AHA/BJCP sanctioned and open to any amateur homebrewer aged 21 or older.
All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or brew on premise operations, etc.).
Entry limit is capped at 650 PAID entries. Your entry is NOT CONFIRMED till it is paid. After the drop-off/delivery deadline - all unpaid entries will be deleted from system.
Individual entry limit is capped at 10 entries per entrant for first 25 days of entry registration (till Oct 7st, 2026 at Midnight) - after which the entry count will be increased to 15 per entrant.
All mailed entries must be received at the shipping destination by the entry deadline - please allow for shipping time.
All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations on the day and time of the entry deadline.
The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrive damaged.
The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judging, and to restructure awards as needed, depending upon the quantity and quality of entries.
Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The consensus scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP Certified Judge. We will strive to have at least one BJCP National Judge on each Mini-BOS Panel, and BJCP Master+ Judge on BOS Panel!
Brewers are limited to one entry in each subcategory.
The competition committee reserves the right to combine categories based on number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
The Best of Show winner will be determined by a Best of Show panel selected from first place winners at each table.
Entries will not be returned to entrants.
No refund will be provided past September 30th. We reserve the right to subtract any processing fees for any refund requested prior to September 30th.
Prior year's winners can be found at https://clubdoze.com/chc/
Entry Acceptance Rules
Each entry will consist of three 12 ounce capped bottles (or other similar height/diameter containers) that are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing. Other containers are acceptable (for example, 8oz bottles for high ABV meads or ciders) but 12 ounce bottles are preferred.
Printed caps are allowed, but must be blacked out completely.
Entries will not be returned to contest entrants.
Entry labels can be printed from the competition website and should be attached to bottles (within a plastic/zip-lock bag if possible).
Be meticulous about noting any special ingredients that must be specified. Failure to note such ingredients may impact the Judges scoring of your entry.

Packing and Shipping
Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Please do not over pack!
Write clearly: Fragile. This Side Up. on the package. Please only use bubble wrap as your packing material.
Enclose each of your entry labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching to their respective bottles/containers. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which entry has broken if there is damage during shipment.

Circuit Qualification
This competition is one of the two competitions from California selected for Circuit of America (https://www.masterhomebrewerprogram.com/circuit-of-america/2026-circuit-of-america). The Master Homebrewer program's Circuit of America is a Homebrewing circuit, combining the results from all major independent homebrewing competitions across the United States, to award an overall National Champion Homebrewer.
This competition is the also third and final competition for the Sierra Nevada California Homebrewer of the Year (https://clubdoze.com/ca-hoty-award/) . Winner of this award will be announced at the end of awards ceremony. While this award is independent from CHC - given this is the last competition of the cirtuit - this award is historically presented during CHC awards ceremony.
This year we are honored to be one of FIVE competitions which are part of American Mead Maker's Association's (AMMA - https://mead-makers.org/) Mead Maker of the year Circuit (https://mead-makers.org/national-mead-maker-of-the-year/).
This competition is also part of newly established California HomeBrew Circuit (https://www.chbcircuit.com/).
All the best to all the entrants participating in these circuits!
