Welcome to the IBRU Bottle Cap Brew Off (BCBO) Registration Page

We're happy you're considering joining us as an entrant and/or volunteer and we're working hard to put on a smooth, efficient and timely competition for you!

Updates!

10/20/25 - Please note that due to demand the total entry limit for the competition is being increased from 150 to 175 paid entries. All published dates, the three-entry per person limit, and other details remain unchanged. Thanks!

11/9/25 - All entries that were received by the deadline have been entered and marked as "received".

11/14/25 - This website was down for about 16 hours on 11/13 andn 11/14. There was some type of server migration error that impacted the DNS for the site. The error was beyond our control, and the old URL is still not working, but we're currently using https://brewingcompetitions.com/ibru/

11/15/25 - The BCBO Awards Ceremony is currently scheduled for 5pm CST. Here is the URL for the Awards Ceremony on Zoom: https://iu.zoom.us/j/87297348225

Here are a few quick, high level details:

  • Entry registration will close as soon as the first 175 PAID entries are registered.
  • There is a three entry limit per brewer
  • Two 12 ounce bottles or cans are required per entry

Competition Rules

  • This competition is AHA sanctioned and open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older.
  • All mailed entries must be received at the mailing location by the entry deadline - please allow for shipping time.
  • If you are dropping off entries at one of the four drop-off locations, be sure you keep an eye on the Drop-Off Dates. Please do not expect our Drop-Off partners to accept any entries before or after the Drop-Off Dates.
  • All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial or Brew On Premises facilities, supplies, ingredients, etc.).
  • Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once.
  • The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, entries that are dropped-off outside of the Drop-Off period, or entries that arrive damaged.
  • Our goal is that all entries will evaluated by BJCP-qualified judges. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge and our goal is for both judges to be BJCP certified wherever possible.
  • The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
  • The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners.
  • Entries will not be returned to entrants.
